What is your strategy? (reprint)

Are you just building sites, submitting them at various places and then hoping for some sales or do you have a strategy in place?

When talking about strategies, one must realize there are many times when you will need multiple strategies on one thing to benefit another. Below are some examples of this.

Layout and Sales strategy - When laying out a site, I personally start with the higher priced premium type sites for the advertisements on the main pages. This increase the click thru rate from your newer surfers as well as those that are interested in whatever type site you are trying to sale. The secondary pages of the site, I will advertise a cheaper type sponsor site such as the CE Mags.

Traffic strategy - This works in conjunction with the above layout and sales strategy by adding to the bottom of the secondary pages links for traffic generation such as a good toplist or traffic trade.

Multiple Site strategy - By linking all my sub sites together, the idea is to either make money from the surfer, make traffic from the surfer, or send them to another one of my sites and try the first two steps all over again.

The point of all this is, to make sure you have a strategy to your work and it's accomplishments. When building a small linklist free site for example, take the few extra minutes to make the site search engine friendly as well. By having a strategy to all of your actions, the desired goals are usually much easier to achieve.
