Build, build and then build some more....

This below is a past article that I thought was worth repeating!

Just like the olden days when the phrase "Go west young man to achieve success" was used, we often hear the new hopeful webmasters being told to "Build more sites". I think in both cases the phrase was used well after it didn't apply any longer for the average person.

No, I am not saying multiple sites are a bad thing in general. What I am trying to say is that if you have 5 sites that do not convert any traffic into sales, that another 95 sites like them are probably not going to make any money either. Truthfully, a site that doesn't make anything really doesn't need to be repeated does it?

Making multiple sites that are DIFFERENT while you are in the learning stages is not only wise, but recommended as that is part of the learning process. Then, when you do find a few combinations of your developing selling styles that make money, you should at that time repeat the process! Of course template made sites should be altered to some degree quite often to remain effective.

All to often many webmasters start to worry more about quantity as compared to quality. While we all want more, we should strive to repeat our successes and not our failures.

In closing, to those of you that have your own site templates in use now, make sure the template is working before building more sites using it. There are plenty of sites just "giving" away porn as it is. Make sure you are supplying it for a purpose, to make money. To those of you starting to make your templates now, evaluate the results closely before publishing another 20 sites that ended up only costing you more bandwidth.
