Suggested E-mail Protocol (re-visited)

I've mentioned before some standard type things in regards to e-mails but I figured it was about time for a reminder for us all. Below are some suggestions to keep in mind when dealing with e-mail as a form of communication.

1. Never attach something to an e-mail without notifying the party receiving it first. This will result in a lot less mails going straight to a junk bin and never being seen.
2. If you send an e-mail and get no response, send another one or two at different times and even from different e-mail addresses if possible before assuming you are being ignored!
3. Supply any important information in regards to any questions or suggestions. Many people get a large amount of correspondence and without the details supplied, it takes extra time to decipher what a person is talking about. This of course will delay any response.
4. Be professional! The receiver can not tell if you are be sarcastic or joking around if they have not dealt with you before. Establish some time of relationship with the people you are dealing with before writing in a relaxed style.

Following the above suggestions in all situations can save you time which of course many times means money as well!
